Lindsey and Liam's Wedding

Lindsey and Liam at Coltsford Mill Barn wedding Venue in SurreyLindsey and Liam chose a very stylish colour palette of champagne, ivory and cream.

Liam proposed on their 10th anniversary.

The couple didn't even know that Coltsford Mill existed, despite its being only 2 minutes from their home - in Lindsey's words "it is so tucked away".  The venue was recommended by a friend; they visited with Lindsey's parents and fell in love with the intimate yet spacious, light and airy celebration spaces and lovely grounds.  The fact that it was so local for all their friend and family was an added bonus!  Lindsey immediately appreciated the benefits of the separate ceremony, celebration and bar spaces at Coltsford Mill and loved that fact that all of the day's events could happen in the same place.

The Bride, her parent and bridesmaidsLindsey had five bridesmaids.  The four adults wore floor-length outfits - two wearing champagne dresses from BHS and two wearing cream corsets and full-length skirts.  The smallest bridesmaid wore a beautiful champagne and ivory dress, embroidered with butterflies.

The ushers and groomsmen all wore summer-weight grey suits - all of the hire suits were too heavy for the time of year - with white shirts and champagne ties from Next.

Lindsey's Wedding DressLindsey wore a silk, corseted full-length, off-the-shoulder gown from The Bridal Way in Warlingham.  The dress was decorated with embroidery and crystal .  Lindsey wore her hair up, coiled elaborately around a crystal and pearl tiara with her veil pinned beneath the back of the tiara.   For her 'old', Lindsey wore her Mum's diamond earrings.

Lindsey loves orchids and worked with Liz, the Wedding Planner at Coltsford Mill, to design a dramatic, sweeping bouquet of large white orchids.  The bridesmaids had round bouquets of orchids and banana leaves. All of the wedding party's buttonholes and corsages, bridesmaid bouquets and table decorations were provided by Liz.

The Wedding Breakfast Table DecorationsThe Mill Room ceremony room was decorated with pillar candles and Singapore Orchids.  The couple took their vows beneath an arbour of rucus and orchids. Their chairs, the pillars and the rest of the room reflected this floral decoration.

The wedding reception table decorations in the Watermill Barn had tall vases of orchids on mirrored glass plates surrounded by tea lights.  The room was festooned with more greenery and fairly lights.

Lindsey and Liam's Wedding CakeLindsey and Liam chose a cake with three layers: chocolate, sponge and fruit.  The cake was decorated with a sugar-craft orchid on each layer and displayed on a sloping stand.

For Lindsey, the best part of the day was the vows - she and Liam wrote their own making it very meaningful and memorable.

The Happy Couple at Coltsford Mill Barn Weddinng Venue in SurreyLindsey and Liam were let down by one supplier as a result of a family bereavement but they didn't let it upset them.  Lindsey's tip is to "let someone else deal with anything that goes wrong - the time on your day goes so quickly, it's just not worth stressing over details".
